dawsonera to be RNIB approved

Monday 15th February 2016

Connect Books is delighted to announce the latest series of enhancements to its dawsonera platform.

The improvements, which have been effective from the beginning of February 2016, will ensure services available on dawsonera will be more accessible to those with impaired vision.

The RNIB, (Royal National Institute of Blind People) has launched the new standard in response to demand from people suffering from sight loss, as well as businesses who want to ensure their products are suitable for everyone. This new accreditation will replace the previous ‘Surf Right’ standard.

Some of the features on the latest update include improvements to screen readers, so that they recognise titles and descriptions for books in different languages, as well as better site navigation for the user.

The RNIB Approved status has been developed by experts, with all products going through a rigorous testing process before being reviewed by a panel of blind and partially sight people.
